Newcastle Olympic FC congratulate the following players from our club that have been invited into the final identification camp for Girls to be conducted from the 14th – 16th April, 2021.
This camp is the final stage in identifying and selecting players to ultimately represent NNSWF in the 14’s and 16’s age groups at the 2021 FFA National Youth Championships for Girls, rescheduled from July to later date in 2021 (Exact Dates TBC). A key part of the April Camp for both age groups will include entry into a Regional TSP Matchday/Tournament to be held at Valentine Sports Park in Sydney. NNSWF will be using this tournament to compare our Girls with some of the best from around NSW.
Players have been identified following thorough identification camps in November and January conducted by NNSWF Talent ID Coaches, whilst NNSWF also conducted an Elite Match in early March primarily used for identifying the best 16 Year Old Girls from the Premier Competitions.
The older group of players brought in for this Camp will be an extended group made up of both 15 and 16 Year Old Girls (born 2005 & 2006) – as part of a commitment from NNSWF to identifying the best players from both age groups following the advised change of Age Groups at National Championships by Football Australia. Whilst the 14s group named by NNSWF is close to the final group to be taken for National Championships, NNSWF would first like to observe these players in a high quality tournament environment before confirming the exact make-up of the final squad.
